Health and family welfare deptt set to organise block level health mela from April 18 till 22

Health and Family Welfare Department, through a press conference today announced that it is organising a Block level Health mela from April 18 to April 22 as a continuation of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav, under the guidance of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The Mela will be organized at all the PHCs and CHCs at the block level and it would be a platform to offer bouquet of Health services free of cost and enhance awareness about different schemes/programmes of the government.

The objective of the mela is reported to be:
-Build awareness about different Health programmes with focus on AB-HWC.
-Facilitate creation of Unique Health ID under ABDM for attendees Facilitate provision of Ayushman Bharat Card under AB-PM-JAY.
-Increase health awareness of the population for prevention of various communicable and
non-communicable diseases.
-Motivate the masses through innovative mass media and mid-media activities to adopt
wellness behaviour to stay healthy.
-Provide screening for early diagnosis, basic health care services with drugs and diagnostics, teleconsultation with relevant health specialists and referrals as needed.

The key services provided at the Mela are:
Reproductive Child Health related:
Maternal & Child Health
Family Planning
IEC-Family Welfare
NCD related:
Yoga, Meditation & Lifestyle counselling
Tobacco and alcohol cessation
Cancer prevention awareness Communicable Diseases related:
Personal/environmental hygiene
Leprosy control, TB control, Malaria,
Skin care
GENERAL
Digital Health ID Creation- ABDM
Ayushman Bharat Card Issuance
General health check-up; Teleconsultation with specialists
Indian Systems of Medicine Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Homeopathy
Awareness:
Exhibition displaying all services Screening of EYE, ENT and screening by other Specialists Dental Consultation

Apart from the mela, the 4th Anniversary of Health and Wellness Day will also be observed and which will have a Virtual Programme on April 16 with the Theme: “e Sanjeevani HWC-Health and Wellness through tele consultation.”
The Prime Minister of India will also join the celebration through eSanjeevani and on April 17 and the HWCS/PHSCs will observe Health and Wellness activities where the community will join in.
