Five schools represent Sikkim at National Science Exhibition ’22

Students of Sikkim along with their guide teachers represented their state in National Science Exhibition 2022 (49th Rashtriya Bal Vigyanik Pradarshani 2022) at Srimanta Shankaradev Kalashetra, Guwahati- Assam from November 22 to November 27, 2022.

143 schools across India from different states was selected for the exhibition and from Sikkim, 5 schools were selected.


Schools who got selected for national level are as follows:

  1. Govt.SSS, MACHONG. ( guide teacher- Deeki Ongmu Bhutia PGT-BIO, Students- Sandeep Gurung XII science & Gana Maya Rai XII science)
  2. Govt. SSS, THARPU( guide teacher- Awakash Kharel PGT PHYSICS and students- Saraswati Biswas XII Sc & Sarah Pucho Angami XII Sc.)
  3. Govt. SSS, RUMTEK (guide teacher- Anup Timsina PGT PHYSICS, Students- Reepandy Lepcha XII Sc& Kezia Rai XII Sc.)
  4. Govt SSS Mangan ( guide teacher- Prakash Rawat GT- MATHS & escort teacher- Kinchok Ongmu Bhutia, Students- Sapna biswakarma & Reena Subba).
  5. EMRS Swayem ( guide teacher- Sangeev Shah PGT BIOLOGY

Each school presented their model on the various sub topic:

Transport- ” Alcohol detection device- prevention of acidents” by GOVT.SSS MACHONG
Environmental and climate change- ” Landslide detection device” by GOVT. SSS RUMTEK.
Health and cleanliness- “Automatic Sanitizing Device” by GOVT. SSS THARPU.
Environmental and climate change- ” Eco cooling house” by GOVT. SSS MANGAN.
Health and cleanliness- ” Eco- San Toilet” by EMRS SWAYEM.
The programme was organised by Department of School Education, Govt. of Assam in colaboration with NCERT,New Delhi and was attended by Honorable Governor of Assam Shri. Jagdish Mukhi and Honorable Education Minister of Assam Shri. Ranoj Pegu and other dignitaries.
