Dead Body of a Man in a Decomposed State found at Deorali; Investigation Underway: Sikkim Police

Gangtok, March 28: A decomposing dead body of one Ram Singh Bomzon was found by Sikkim Police at Deorali, East Sikkim on Sunday March 27.  The police, at around 10:23 PMreceived a written FIR from Hem KumarBomzan, a resident ofDeorali. The complaint mentioned that a foul smell was noticed, coming out from the third floor of their building located at Deorali. The complainants, after approaching and intimating the authorities at Deorali Police Outpost atDeorali at around 7:00 PM o the same day, went to the spot along with the concerned police personnel and broke open the door which was locked from inside.

After breaking open the door, the body of the complainant’s elder brother, a 69-year-oldRam Singh Bomzan was found lying dead on his bed. According to police reports, it has been speculated that the dead body seemed to be lying there since many days, probably around a week. Furthermore, the preliminary investigation reports from the police revealed that the Ram Singh used to stay alone in the said floor of the building, while his wife and children used to stay in another floor.

The case has been filed at Sadar Police Station registered on the death of Ram Singh Bomzon, and the police have reported that the case is undergoing further investigation.
