71,056 youth receive job appointment letters in second edition of Rozgar Mela by Ministry of Personnel & Training, GOI

Gangtok, November 22 (via IPR): A total of 71,056 youth of the country received their job appointment letters today on the occasion of the second edition of Rozgar Mela organized by the Ministry of Personnel and Training, Government of India.

The Rozgar Mela was organized across forty-five locations in different States and Union Territories of India, and was joined by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, through live video conferencing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched the Karmayogi Prarambh module, an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments.Joining the nation-wide event through virtual mode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pressed the remote to virtually mark the simultaneous distribution of Job Appointment letters to the new recruits. Thereafter, he addressed the nation.

Earlier, Minister of State for Personnel, Government of India, Dr. Jitendra Singh in his opening remarks thanked the Prime Minister for his guidance and leadership to spearhead the nation-wide recruitment drive.For Sikkim, the programme was organized under the aegis of ITBP sectorial headquarters at the conference hall of Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim.

The programme was graced by Union Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, as the chief guest. He was joined by Minister for Health and IT, Government of Sikkim, Dr. M.K. Sharma, Principal Chief Investment Advisor, Government of Sikkim, G.P. Upadhyaya, Secretary, Education Department, Government of Sikkim, D.C. Nepal, Vice Chancellor, Sikkim University, Dr. Avinash Khare, DIG ITBP Gangtok, R.P.S Raghuvanshi, and other dignitaries.On the occasion, a total of twenty-four newly inducted recruits of Sikkim were presented the Job Appointment letters by the Union MoS for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar.

Physical copies were handed over to fourteen Indo Tibetan Border Police recruits (including three female), six Sashastra Seema Bal recruits, two Border Security Force and two Assam Rifles recruits.

Addressing the distribution programme, Union MoS for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, said that on 22nd October, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Rozgar Mela, a recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel, with the aim to provide job opportunities for the youth and ensure the welfare of the citizens. He stated that the Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation.The target of providing 10 lakh jobs will be completed in a time-bound manner in the coming months, he added.

Dr. Sarkar informed that 75,000 appointment letters were handed over to newly inducted appointees under Rozgar Mela, earlier in October this year. In addition to the categories of posts filled earlier, posts of teachers, lecturers, nurses, nursing officers, doctors, pharmacists, Radiographers and other technical and paramedical posts are also being filled. A significant number of posts are being filled by the Ministry of Home Affairs in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), he added.

Expressing pride over how the Armed Forces have been maintaining the territorial integrity of the nation for years, Dr. Sarkar congratulated the new appointees who are going to be part of the prestigious Armed Force of the nation. The huge workforce from the new generation entering the Government of India will lead to enormous social development and strengthen the foundation of the country’s dream to build a ‘New India’ by 2047.

The Union Minister elaborated on the Karmayogi Prarambh module launched by the PM and informed that the orientation course includes code of conduct for Government servants, workplace ethics, integrity, human resource policies and other benefits and allowances that will help them to get acclimatized to the policies and transition smoothly into new roles. They will also get an opportunity to explore other courses on igotkarmayogi.gov.in platform to enhance their knowledge, skills and competencies.He further shared various initiatives spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that contribute to fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He expressed faith and confidence that the new appointees will remain committed to their goals and continue to work hard for the upliftment of the nation. He thanked the Prime Minister for uplifting the youth of the nation and providing better employment opportunities.

The Union Minister also addressed a press conference wherein he shared his experience during his two-day-long visit to Sikkim and applauded the State’s progress in various sectors.Earlier, the programme began with the welcome address by DIG, ITBP Sectorial Headquarters Gangtok, R.P.S. Raghuvanshi.
