19-year-old charged US 302 IPC for alleged murder of Grandfather at Khamdong

A heinous murder case has been reported in Khamdong, where a 19-year-old allegedly murdered his 80-year-old grandfather on March 22.

According to the police report, the Sang Police outpost received a complaint via telephone around 9:30 am stating that “A 19-year-old was seen roaming around with a sharp-edged weapon (Bamphok) with blood stains around his residence in Beyong Khamdong.” Upon, reaching the spot, it was confirmed that, he allegedly murdered his 80-year-old grandfather using the Bamphok.”

The complaint was forwarded to the Singtam Police station by the Sang OP. The police report states, “Upon arrival at the scene, the complainant found the 80-year-old deceased, lying in a semi-prone position inside his kitchen with multiple injuries to his head, neck, and face area.”

“Furthermore, the complainant found the accused 19 years old was lying on the floor in the other room of the same house with self-inflicted injuries on the backside of his head and neck,” the police report reads.

“The weapon of the offence, i.e., the Bamphok, was found stuck in the nearby mud with blood stains,” the police report added.

A case under Section 302 and 326 of the IPC has been registered at the Singtam Police station and the accused is currently hospitalized under police supervision.
