Gangtok 8 May: Sikkim’s Suman Tamang(29), from Gangtok has clinched silver medal at 4th India Open International Taekwondo Championship, New Delhi which had participant from six countries and all the states of the country.
Born to Chalan Singh Tamang and Mamta Tamang, he won in under 74kg category.
Speaking to SC he stated that he has been playing Taekwondo since past twenty years.
He added that this is his fourth international competition after Nepal(2013) and Malaysia(2014) where he clinched bronze medal in both competition.
Currently he is stationed in Delhi working under 1st IRBn Sikkim police battalion.
Thanking his family and supporters, he informed that he would be participating in World Rankings competition to be held in Hyderabad in the near future from 10-11 June.
