SOUTH SIKKIM: MAN SWEPT AWAY WHILE FISHING

Gangtok, May 4: A body of 33 year old man who went missing while angling in Ramphok river in South Sikkim was fished out by police on May 3.

Narayan Kharka of Lower Lingee had left home for fishing on May 1 with his brother, Bir Bahadhur Kharka.

” The deceased asked his younger brother to go home and bring bait for fishing. When the brother reached the spot he couldn’t find the deceased except the slippers” said the police.

Reportedly, he slipped in the river and was swept away.

An extensive search was launched by the police and the villagers after the missing complaint was lodged by the family members at police station in Rabong.

The body was handed to the family members after autopsy.
