Gangtok, August 11: According to the daily Health Bulletin by Director General cum Health Secretary Dr Pempa T. Bhutia, Sikkim reported three new COVID-19 cases today. The total number of the cases in the state stand at 913, with 378 active cases.

East district reported one new case and South district reported two. West and North reported no new cases.

Among the new cases, one has been reported via RT-PCR out of 236 tests while the other two via TrueNat out of 25 samples.

The Health Secretary said that the positive patient reported through RT-PCR testing is a 34-year-old male working in Madhya Bharat Power Co-operation in IMT Rangpo of East.

One of the two cases from South is a 46-year-old male from Mamring who is a contact of an earlier positive patient while the last positive patient is a 38-year-old male from Mamring.

Currently, it was informed that there are no patients in the ICU at STNM Hospital, Sochakygang and 24 patients have discharged from the same.

The Health Secretary added that dialysis of three patients have been done in Gyalshing and the two who returned on Monday tested positive for COVID-19 so their dialysis process has started in isolation. He requested the returning patients to wait until the health department invite them for dialysis.
