Gangtok, 8 July: First all composite meeting around fashion industry held on the 8 July under chair of Jaswant Joint Secretary, Commerce and Industries department, Government of Sikkim which was also attended by Mrinalini Srivastava, MD Temi and various fashion business houses, fashion, retail and media companies.
The followinh points of action was discussed in the meeting including feasibility study to be undertaken by the stakeholders for which Temi Tea and Ecostream have been selected for the joint study presentation
Simultaneous work on developing professional network within the state and at national and international level for various stakeholders was held.
The annual calender events of Mr Sikkim and Miss Sikkim has been decided to be taken on priority to freeze them as calendar state level events.
Cluster formation around fashion industry has also been indentified as one of the important aspects of further development in the meeting.
It was also decided in the meeting that every first Monday of the month fashion and retail industry stakeholders will hold a meeting to discuss the future mechanism.
Rinzing Bhutia, Fashion Designer while highlighting the present scenario of the industry stated that with a united efforts to accelerate the growth for fashion designers and related stakeholders.
The need for fashion week was also discussed which can attract further inputs from fashion stakeholders from across the country and neighbouring regions.
