Sikkim bags 1st position in Young Scientist jury Award at IISF-2019 Kolkata.
Keshar Kumar Luitel, bags 1st position jury award in the 5th India International Science Festival (IISF-2019) held at Kolkata during 5th – 8th November 2019.
The programme was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Science, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The programme was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi through technical media in the presence of Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of West Bengal, Dr Harshvarden, Minister for MOS & T, MOES and MOH & FW Government of India, Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary DST, GOI and other prominent scientists and dignitaries across the world.
The IISF is a mega event with over 20000 participants. Luitel got 1st position under Young Scientist Conference (YSC) in the theme “frontier areas of science-physics” for his presentation entitled “Detection of slip surface in landslide using ohm’s law”.
Luitel is presently working in Mines and Geology Department, Government of Sikkim. He acknowledges Dr Homnath Luitel (also one of the participants in YSC from Sikkim) for motivation, guidance and overall support to make this possible. This is an encouraging moment for young researcher in Sikkim dedicating their life for research work.
