The famous PNG School Robotics team comprised of Prerna Pradhan, Sristika Sharma and Bath Sheba Lepcha of Class XII (Science) led by Mr Ivan Dorjee Lepcha, their coach-cum-mentor will be representing India and Sikkim in the upcoming International Robotics Competition, which is the biggest Robotex festival on the planet being held in Tallinn, Estonia (Europe) from 29th November to 1st December 2019. 

The team was seen off by the Principal, teachers and students of Paljor Namgyal Girls’ School, Gangtok, Sikkim during their morning assembly today, hoping for their success in the festival.

The will be leaving for Delhi, for a courtesy meeting with the dignitaries of NITI Ayog on the 23rd of November.

Previously this year, they secured the 1st Position in Robotex India 2019, Ahmedabad and the 2nd Position in Robotex Asia 2019, Shanghai, China. 

Following are some of the other major achievements by the school in the field of Science and Technology:

• Four times 2nd position in NCSM National Science Seminar ( 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010) 

• Three times 1st position in State Level Science Exhibition (2002, 2009, 2015) 

• Best Team Project in Eastern India Science Fair, BITM, Kolkata (2009) 

• Three times, State Best Project Eastern India Science Fair 

• North-East 2nd Best project in INSPIRE National Exhibition, New Delhi National Top 25, National Children’s Science Congress, Nagaland, 2009 Category Special Award, Intel-IRIS National Fair 2010 (Mumbai) 

• Top 5 innovations of India International Science Festival, 2018, Lucknow TED talk by a PNG Student at UNICEF Talks for Children, 2018, Delhi 

• 2017, 2018 and 2019 ATL School of the month, an annual competition of Atal Innovation Mission 

• Top 100 Innovations ATL Tinkering Marathon (2017-18) 

• 1st Position in IIT Guwahati Tech Fest Robotics Competition, 2018 

• 1st and 2nd Position in Tech Fest of IIT Kharagpur, 2018
