Gangtok, June 3: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between P.K Pradhan, former Chief Secretary along with his family and the Government of Sikkim at Samman Bhawan in Gangtok. The MoU was signed on the premise of the land donated to the Government of Sikkim, measuring 6.91 acres owned by P.K Pradhan and his family in Soreng, West Sikkim. The land was donated for a Community Health Centre (CHC) to be built for the public’s benefit.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan expressed his gratitude towards the Government for choosing his land for the charitable cause of constructing the Community Health Centre (CHC). The CHC will be named after his Late Grandfather Birkha Bahadur Pradhan.
“It is a historic occasion for the people of Sikkim and the Health Department and upgrading the Primary Health Centre of Soreng to Community Health Centre was one of the topmost priorities of our Government for which funds have been allocated for the construction during the last budget session,” CM, PS Tamang said through a press release
CM also expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of Government towards P.K Pradhan and his family for the noble gesture. Informing on how he has directed officials to expedite the process of registration of the land donated and start the construction at the earliest, he added, “The CHC shall not only benefit the people of Soreng Sub-division but also cater to the neighbouring remote villages.”
