Lachen Dzumsa issues notification on re-opening of hotels and homestays

Gangtok, November 20: North Sikkim's local governing system, Dzumsa issued a notification on 20th November notifying tourists that hotels and homestays of the area are open for booking. The decision was taken collectively by the Dzumsa body along with the area MLA Sangdup Lepcha. 
 
However, the notification No 312/LD/2020 of the Lachen Dzumsa stated rules to followed by the stakeholders as well as the tourists, in which it was mentioned that the SoPs issued by the department of tourism should be followed by both the locals and tourists.
 
Furthermore, every hotels and homestay needed to have essential medical equipment like a thermometer, sanitizing boot for the guests. The hotel staff also has to go through a mandatory medical check-up prior to opening.
 
Daily wage workers and other staff who want to work at Lachen have to quarantine themselves for 7 days, as mentioned in the notification. The local police along with the Dzumsa would be doing routine visits to the hotels and homestays.
