Free health camp conducted at Namchi by Sikkim Krantikari Yuwa Morcha and Sikkim Youth Brotherwood Association

Gangtok, October 11: The Sikkim Krantikari Yuwa Morcha and Sikkim Youth Brotherwood Association (NGO) organized a Free Health Awareness Camp at Namchi, as an initiative to mitigate the chances of illnesses, given the background of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the second program, the first being conducted on 4th October 2020. 

Since hospitals are currently tending to critical illnesses and COVID-19 patients, the aim of this program has been to make the facilities given by hospitals available to all. Citizens could avail:

  1. Free Consultation.
  2. Free Blood Sugar Test.
  3. Free Blood pressure examination. 
  4. Free Medicine. 
  5. Free Optical Distribution.

It was attended by Arun Kumar Upreti, Minister of UDHD and Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and other officials. 

A medical staff team from CRH, Sikkim Manipal and STNM Hospital were part of the program and provided doctors, nurses and other medical staff essential for the program. It was mentioned in the event how important the involvement of youth is necessary to make a difference.
