Gangtok, June 12: Taking the tally to 27 cases in the state, 14 more active cases have been reported from 3 different quarantine facilities in Gangtok. As per the Director General cum Health Secretary Dr Pempa T Bhutia, out of 14 cases 11 are female and 3 male.

12 returnees have a travel history of Maharashtra and 2 of West Bengal. The youngest patient is 2.3 months old. The 14 new cases that developed were from Bahai School Quarantine facility, Ipecac Garden Quarantine facility, and PNG School facility. All of them have been now shifted to STNM Hospital where the previous 10 active cases are currently under treatment.

14 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Sikkim, takes the tally to 24 active cases

As per the sources, out of the 14 cases, 9 were from Bahai School facility, 3 from Ipecac garden facility, and 2 from PNG School facility. Before this, out of the 13 previous active cases, 3 have been confirmed to have recovered.

Now the tally has risen to 27 cases in Sikkim, in which 24 cases are active, and 3 have recovered. The cases so far have been all reported from quarantine facilities and all the positive cases have been in isolation and the discharged people have been advised to follow home quarantine. There is no substantial danger of a community spread but it is now the duty of every Sikkimese citizen to be prepared, and take precaution.
